We went to Rehobeth Beach Delaware for the weekend to attend the Photo Beach Bash conference by Coastal Camera Club. The had some excellent speakers; Karen Messick, Tony Sweet, Corey Hilz and Parish Kohanim. On Sunday, I decided to try out my fairly new wide angle lens. Instead of thinking "Great, I can get lots of stuff in the picture!" and create a very busy looking photo, I was thinking "What can I photograph in the foreground to add interest to the picture?" I was at the beach, so I bought a shell. It wasn't quite as local as I would have liked, but I could experiment with it. The
midday light wasn't good either. I learned that I had to put the lens only a few inches away from the shell. Six inches away made it look like the shell was tiny and halfway across the beach!
So, what do you think of them for a first attempt?
I liked the little pebbles in this to add interest and the clouds.
That's the Boardwalk Plaza on the left, a nice Victorian looking hotel next door.
