Holiday Lights in St Marys County Part 2

We drove around a second time to see some of the Christmas Lights on the Holly Jolly Trail, plus anything else pretty we passed by.  Enjoy!

Holiday Lights in St Marys County

I decided to wander around to some housing developments to photograph holiday lights.  It was fun to see how creative folks get and how they share their fun with the neighbors.  These are not areas I often photograph.  I am purposely leaving out locations for privacy purposes.
Although I did find a fun Holly Jolly Light trail contest with houses you can drive by or watch on video.  The Southern Maryland’s Holly Jolly Light trail is listed on Facebook.  There is a map to locations in several counties.  We visited a few and some were regular lights and others were over the top.  Somdxmaslights.com takes you to the website with the maps.

Here are some colorful scenes I found.

Sunset at Leonardtown Wharf

We planned to drive to Solomon's Island for the sunset, but the line to cross the bridge was so long that we would have missed it.  Instead, we drove to Leonardtown Wharf to see the mediocre sunset.  Undaunted, I tried out my new fluorescent filter that enhanced the blue hour look and made more beautiful photos. I liked the light on the flag that made it pop a little.

Wicomico Shores Landing

I discovered another boat landing, Wicomico Shores, in the northern part of St. Mary's County that has a very long pier.  The first time I went there, the sunset was average, so I went back again later to see if I could add a few clouds to the images.

The little park also has a few picnic tables, a boat launch and a restroom.  It is a very pretty little place for the local community.
