We visited Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis to get together with my sister and her husband. It is part way between us both and a fun place to visit. We had a pleasant picnic under the trees overlooking the little lake with a gazebo and bridge and the weather was a perfect Spring temperature, even though a storm loomed in the distance. They brought their dog, Brutus (black), so we just had to visit the unusual dog beach in the park. Brutus wasn't too impressed, but we met another dog, Parker (curly haired tan dog) who was having his birthday party there.

Smallwood State Park October 24, 2023
We took a little Camera Club trip to Smallwood Park since I had never been there. It was the estate of the fourth Governor of Maryland.

Chesapeake Bay Critical Area Driving Tour
We went back to the driving tour from Patuxent River Park to Merkle Park to see how different it is in the Spring. We visited it last year in the Autumn. I kind of liked the fall season better. I suspect it might be quite buggy in the Summer on the trails. This time I saw mountain laurel, osprey, a water skier, turtles and fishermen.
The walk to the top of this observation tower is quite steep.
The bridge wood knot reminded me of a fish.
I waved at the kayakers paddleing under the bridge.
I liked how the leaves created shadows.

A Visit to Lusby, MD in Calvert County
We planned a trip to see a few places near Lusby, MD. The first stop was Cove Point Lighthouse, open 2 days a week on September afternoons. The beach is not accessible and sunset photos are only possible for nearby locals or people who rent the Keeper’s House.
