Upcoming Southern Maryland Boat Club Vintage Regatta July 29-30

Jim's Boat Club is having their annual Vintage Power Boat Regatta this weekend, July 29-30 at the Leonardtown Wharf,  8 am - 5 pm.  All of the boats are antiques and there are no winners, but the club members all have a great time racing around the course.

My husband, Jim, is looking forward to participating.  We seem to be having a few difficulties this year, but hopefully everything will go well.

Here are a few photos from previous years.

Southern Maryland Boat Club Regatta July 30-31, 2016: Disability Be Damned!

Jim is a member of the SMBC and participated in the Regatta this year for the first time at Leonardtown Wharf. This was very special for him because he has extra disabilities to overcome to be in the demos and made quite a few modifications to his boat to drive in the Regatta.  His boat is a 1985 Ski Centurion Warrior Barefoot boat.  His boat's speed was about 55 mph.

He enjoyed showing off his boat and wants to thank his pit crew for all of their help.  It was quite hot, but lots of fun and we also enjoyed the lovely club dinner at Rayner Blair's house Saturday night.

Someone from the club asked if I would offer my Regatta photos for sale, but mostly I am posting them for your enjoyment.
