Colorful Face Masks from my Zazzle store

I wanted to contribute to help relieve the crisis a little, so I made several designs for face masks in my Zazzle store since they are making them for customers and I haven't sewn in a while.  There is a Persian kitten, a big pink gerbera daisy, a red rose (not pictured), a hot air balloon and a heart design from a book.  They told me they make them in Nevada.  Some are cotton and some are polyester with a slot for an insert. They also sell some disposable face mask inserts at reasonable prices.  Here are some of the photos I used (all copyrighted by me).

Yucatan Mexico Celestun Flamingos February 7, 2018

Flamingos!!!  We talked a Mexican tour guide into taking us out early in the morning before the crowds in this small fishing village.  The light was beautiful.  Very pretty colorful birds.

This flamingo Takeoff photo is for sale at Zazzle as an 11x14  print.  https://www.zazzle.com/flamingo_takeoff_11x14_photo_print-190753255665955840
I like it a lot, with it's wings spread wide and a nice reflection on the river.

Flamingos in the air look sort of like flying sticks!

Flamingo Heart
I also turned the heart print into a 8x10 "painting" with the pink salt lake background from Las Coloradas (another place we visited later) .

Their necks are amazingly twisty!

There were mangrove islands in the background.

These two were having a dispute over something.  Food?  Women?  They were certainly making a lot of noise.

I saw many more birds that day which I will post soon, great blue herons, pelicans, cormorants, roseate spoonbills, an egret and a tricolored heron.  So be sure to stop back to see them, or follow my RSS feed or my Calm Reflections Photography Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/CalmReflectionsPhotography

Camera club Honors for October

I had 3 winning photos in the Camera club Competition, 1 theme (abc123), and 2 advanced.  Strangely enough, I liked an osprey photo that didn't win anything the best!  I like how much action was happening and how two birds framed the third bird.

The theme was called Abc123.  A few hours before I sent in the pictures, I was talking to Jim and noticed that the drawer pulls on our old fashioned filing cabinet looked like the letter "i" if I rotated them 90 degrees. It won third place.

A fairly recent sunrise had a lovely red glow.  I think I made sure the land was cropped off the bottom of the photo, since a previous picture was similar.  3rd prize Advanced.

                       Warm Sunset

While photographing some gorgeous water lilies, I noticed some water had collected on a lily pad in the shape of a heart, so I called it green heart and it won 1st place in the advanced category.

Water Lilies

Here's a few of the photos I took of a water lily display over the weekend.  The weather on Saturday was lovely and there was an overcast sky, perfect for flower photos.

On sunny days, the shadows can be much more harsh, although I still like the photos because of the colors.

If you want to compare, you can look at some of my water lily photos on Flickr at

www.flickr.com/photos/75311362@N08 in the flower album.  Here's an example.
