Gilbert Run Park

We went to Gilbert Run Park for the fall colors on my birthday, mostly because I was afraid it would be one of the last nice days with leaves left on the trees.  I didn't know Jim invited some friends at the last minute.  Here are photos of the park I took of the trees, hybrid geese, canoes and some lovely birthday flowers from friends in didn't expect.

Myrtle Point State Park

We took a walk on the Mill Creek Lane trail at Myrtle Point in St. Marys County, .8 miles roundtrip on uneven ground.  It dead ends near a beach and Red Oak Pond.  There was a short little moderately steep trail at the end.
The pretty beach was my reward.  I even saw a couple of mergansers in the pond.  You be the judge.

Foggy Day Pier

Just a photo from a foggy day in February from a local pier.  I liked it in black and white and I liked the hazy reflection on the water.  It is kind of peaceful.  This one is from my little Nikon Coolpix.  It fits with my business name, Calm Reflections photography.

Winter Cold 2022

Here are a few photos that could symbolize the word COLD.  During my recent winter walks, I chose to photograph the current weather conditions along the roadside as a way of expressing the current time, Winter.  We haven't had a whole lot of snow, only an inch or two, while many of you have experienced far worse conditions.  Several feet of snow would have expressed COLD as well, but I am very grateful I didn't have to show that to express the Winter.

Autumn is Finally Here in St. Mary's County!

I loved this red tree with a reflection in the water.  The light was really nice between the clouds.

Lovely reflection.

I played with the zoom on this one for an interesting shape.

Tulip Still Lifes

I bought some tulips from the grocery store, not knowing what color they would be from curbside pickup.  Tulips don’t grow well in our yard, so I thought it would be fun to photograph some.  I played with still lifes using 2 flashes and a flashlight on black velvet.

This was about shapes.

I shined a flashlight on the tulip and tried to get a reflection in the lens ball.

I used a red flashlight pointed at the bowl.

And played with black and white.

Just playing with 3s. 3 groups, 3 books

Lens Reflection

I was photographing circles, so I used my phone to photograph the pink chandelier reflection in my camera lens.  The reflection is blue because of the lens coatings.  Jim had to explain it to me.

Cormorants

Cormorants from St Michael’s Manor in St. Mary’s County.  They were very far away, and my focus was off a little, but I liked the reflection.

Annapolis Dock Street in Winter

We went to Annapolis for an annual check up and spent the late afternoon by the docks.  Here is an assortment of images that I enjoyed.  The docks are usually full of boats in the warm weather months.

I liked how the Market house sign "pointed" toward the docks.

Some students were taking sailing lessons in the river and the sails briefly reflected on calmer water.

Near sunset, I noticed how the buildings were reflecting on a ...

black car.  The driver asked us what we were looking at and understood after I showed her the photo.

As the sky turned pink and twilight blue was taking over, I snapped this image of a branch on a nearby tree.  I looked upward so you can't see that the branch was surrounded by city buildings.
