River Concert 4: Sultry Summer Night Jazz Tango and More, July 16, 2021

 The last 2021 summer concert at St. Mary's College of Maryland featured Sara Jones, jazz vocalist, José Cueto, violinist and Bryan Bourne, trombone player with the Chesapeake Orchestra.  It was indeed a sultry and very hot summer night!  These are rehearsal photos.  I really enjoyed hearing "Sway" and "One Note Samba".  At the moment, all of the 4 concerts are available to watch at https://www.smcm.edu/river-concert/

Still life of Gladiolus

I photographed some gladiolus from my garden in front of a black backdrop.  Two stems turned into a nice triangle shape that I really liked.

River Concert Series 3: Summer Dance July 9, 2021

The third concert featured Sheryl-Marie Dunaway's Ballet Caliente at 7 pm on the green at St. Mary's College of Maryland.  They performed some music of Bizet, Arvo Part and others.  Enjoy some rehearsal photos.

River Concert Series 2 A Night of Music & Americana Without the Noise! 2021

On July 2, I photographed the River Concert rehearsal at St. Mary's College of Maryland.   Jeffrey Chappell and the Chesapeake Orchestra played a glorious rendition of "Rhapsody in Blue".  Jeffrey's jazz quartet Otherworld played some of their own compositions.

River Concert Series presents Summer Dance tonight at 7 pm

 Weather permitting, the Chesapeake Orchestra (music director Jeffrey Silberschlag) and Ballet Caliente (director Sheryl-Marie Dunaway) will perform tonight on the green at St. Mary's College of Maryland as Summer Dance.  Be prepared for possible rain and check the page at smcm.edu or smcm.edu/riverconcert for updates or to watch the virtual performance.
