Russell Farms Stand

I visited Russell Farms Stand in the Spring as part of my Farm market project, but I originally visited in the fall, when they had lots of pumpkins.  I think I drove by a few times when I visited Goldpetal Farms sunflowers.  The staff was friendly and they had quite a few flowers in the Spring and a variety of canned goods, fruits and vegetables.  Lots of pumpkins in the Fall.

They are located at 23200 Budds Creek Rd, Leonardtown, MD 20650

Zimmerman's Greenhouse and Produce

I keep going back to Zimmerman's Produce north of Leonardtown, when I am in the area.   They have a wonderful selection of flowers, art, local Amish garden supplies, produce, backed goods, lawn art, chairs and more.  There is always a lot to see.   These photos were taken in June and October In the fall, there are quite a few pumpkins to pick from.  The year I first discovered them, I had to buy pumpkins just to use them to make still lifes in colors like blue-grey, yellow, peach and white.  I never knew pumpkins were another color than orange, but now I find them all over.

Be sure you bring cash or check, because they don't take credit cards.  They are always pleasant when I visit and are willing to answer my questions or help me find something.  Give yourself some time to visit and explore because there are several greenhouses, the store and plants in the back and side of the building.

28025 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650 (close to Loveville, MD), no phone, but you might be able to find more information from other web posts.

 Hours: 8am-6pm Monday to Saturday.

Tractor Supply

I found Tractor supply in Hollywood Maryland listed with farm markets, well sort of.  I checked out the outside section anyway.  They did have some interesting chicken art and weather vanes along with the flowers.  Again, I am sure the flowers are different now.  There were quite a few Red White and Blue (purple) petunias at the time I visited.  I guess they are a small competitor of Lowes for flowers.

Farm Market Project Barns at New Market

One of the larger farm markets in St. Mary's County is the Barns at New Market, at 29133 Thompson Corner Road in Mechanicsville, Maryland.  It was formerly the North County Farmer's market at the Charlotte Hall Library parking lot, but it expanded and moved to the new location in 2022.

Hours are:

Saturday 9-3 inside and outside

Sunday 12-4 inside only

Monday-Saturday 9-4 only some outside

The seasonal location probably is only open inside in winter, mid-January through March, so check later if you visit then.

We visited on May 30th, so the items for sale may be slightly different.

Two November 2025 artistic photos when they were closed.   I discovered it while hiking the Three Notch Trail, because there is a connecting boardwalk.
