 I gave myself a rose as a reward, so of course, I had to photograph it too.

Bald Eagle Pair Having a Meal

Occasionally, a bald eagle pair comes to visit and fish from the osprey nest nearby.  They are fun to watch.  I saw one yesterday, and heard one a few days ago, but there haven't been a lot of birds of prey around lately, mostly just little buffleheads who are cute, but hard to photograph as they are SO tiny.  The eagles are around somewhere.  I believe they sometimes nest and have their young around this time of year, but I don't know where their nest is locally, but I doubt it is more than a mile or two from Ridge.

These are not my best photos.  They are not moving much, but their expressions are interesting and I like how their feathers blow around their head in the wind and the fish tail hanging over the nest.

 

Sunsets in St Mary's County

We recently drove to Point Lookout State Park to take a quick drive.  We wandered around a bit, and I took a few pretty sunset pictures over the calm waters.
