Camera Club Theme Winners for the End of the Year 2021

I had 2 winning photos in the End of Year Competition, consisting of winners from the previous competitions throughout the year.  You may have seen them before.  I was happy to have any winning photos this year, since it took extra effort to even stand long enough to photograph anything.  It is slowly getting a little easier, 16 months after my broken heel.  Other winners included 1st and 2nd by Leon Smith in the Advanced competition for Grandchildren and I'll Get a Hit, 3rd place by Eric Wilcox for Old House.  Leon Smith won Third place theme for Chincoteague Storm.

Old Book Still Life from the Still Life themed competition was 1st place.

White Flower from the Three Colors or Less themed competition was 2nd place.  This was  cell phone photo, using my sweater for a background.  The flower is a Royal Star Magnolia.

Winter Iris

I always enjoy seeing the winter iris in the coldest part of the year.  It started blooming last week.

Garden flowers

During quarantine, I am not going out to gardens to photograph gorgeous planned gardens.  Many of us are learning to appreciate the simple things life has to offer.

We are having a flower competition soon in the St. Mary’s County Camera Club, so I photographed some of my garden flowers. Most of our summer flowers are now done blooming.  I thought they were pretty and 3 makes a nice number.

Walking Challenge

When I take walks around the neighborhood, I like to challenge myself to photograph things I see along the way that I didn’t notice the last time I walked.  I use my camera or cell phone, whichever I have with me.  These were taken and edited with my phone.  It it an exercise in seeing.  I challenge YOU to try the same.  Try not to repeat what you photographed earlier, unless it looks significantly different.

Only One Day Left to see my Lexington Park Library Photo Exhibit

Here's photo from my exhibit to entice you to visit the collection.  A waterlily in this pale pink shade is easy to over expose.  This photo was 2nd place themed digital at the end of the year competition in the St. Mary's County Camera Club, a competion including only the winning photos from the monthly competitions.  (I also won first for the advanced digital category for my baby gorilla photo.)

Chanticleer's Lovely Gardens

We visited Chanticleer in Wayne, PA.  The gardens were lovely this time of year.  We were visiting a very ill relative, so seeing some flower gardens was a good distraction.

I love curves.  The garden goes to the   Minder ruin.
