Sunflowers 1

Sunflowers come in a variety of colors like yellow, red and orange.  (I used to think they were only yellow.)  When I saw a few fields of sunflowers, their heads turn toward the sun, so sometimes I needed to walk quite a distance to get a good photo, or they weren't facing the right way to include the sunset.  These were all mostly sunny day photos.

I liked this one, since it had an unusual number of petals and a frilly look.

Please come see the new exhibit "When Darkness Falls:  Night Explorations" at Annmarie Gardens.  The theme of the artistic works includes the mystery and illumination of light in the darkness.

You are invited to the Friday evening reception at the Gardens to meet the artists and see the winners.  This will be my sixth participation in one of their exhibits!

The opening reception is:

Usually music and light refreshments including wine (so sorry, no children)
Usually $5 admission or so

Bald Eagles Stopped by to Check Out the Creek

The osprey have probably flown south now, so the eagles felt free to hang out at the osprey nest again.  They came just in time for me to add some photos to the animal critique group I belong to in the Photographic Society of America yesterday.  This one seemed the sharpest and the others are bonus pictures for you.
