Annmarie Garden After Hours Reception

I have the privilege of sharing my photographs at another upcoming exhibit at Annmarie Garden called Landmark:  Iconic American Views.  I sent in four photographs and three were accepted into the exhibit, a new record for me.  I didn't have high hopes because I figured the art would focus on National Parks and well known places.  The entries can only be made in the last 4 years, which for me is during the time that I broke my heel and got diagnosed with Alpha Gal Syndrome, both of which limit my distance mobility.   I think I need to learn to digitally paint some of my older photos, so I can say they were made within 4 years!  They allowed local photos that show the local landscape as well, but hey, how can I compete with Grand Canyon and Yosemite?

My photos are a Sunset at Piney Point Lighthouse, the Slave Memorial SMCM (St Mary's College of MD) with the sun reflection glowing in a corner, and a Red Barn in Spring framed by a big cherry tree, all from St. Mary's County, MD.

The exhibit will be upstairs in the Kay Daugherty Gallery where they will hold an artist's reception this coming Friday, May 8th 5-7 pm.  The exhibit will be up May 8-Sep 20, 2026.  Come out to see the winners and wonderful art!  It makes a nice date or fun evening outing.  Food and a cash bar are available, music too, so you have to be 21 or older to attend.

Heads up!  I got one acceptance in the downstairs exhibit Winging It! (about birds), opening June 8th.  More later.
