Solomons Island Visits

We visited Solomon's Island several times lately to deliver photos to Annmarie Garden for exhibits.  For fun, we wandered around the boardwalk and the Veteran's memorial before the big summer crowds.  Both were nice spots to have a car picnic.

Solomon's Island Beach Waters

Some lovely beach scenes from Solomon's Island.  I used a magenta filter to enhance the setting sun creating a lovely pink glow on the beach area. (not a public beach)

More of Solomon's Island September 2022

We went back to Solomon's Island for a second visit to see more boats and birds.  This time there were lots of cormorants sitting on a pier by Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.  They looked quite hot in the blazing sun and were puffing out their necks to deal with the heat.

We also visited the On Watch Statue on Solomon's Island at the end of Dowell Road.  It commemorates the World War II Amphibious Training Base from the 1940s.  Nearby, an out of service Navy Yard Patrol Craft was moored.

Solomon's Island Summer Scenes in August 2022

We visited Solomon's Island looking for birds, boats and beaches.  We found all three and more.  Here are my favorites.
