Sarita Needed Grooming

We were fairly busy lately and weren't paying enough attention.  Sarita, our toy poodle needed grooming, NOW.  She doesn't photograph as well these days, with her sightless eyes and very anxious demeanor, but she means a lot to us, so I photograph her anyway, mostly just cuddled up next to Jim.  I put her in window light, because strange noises from a flash are very scary these days.  She tends to put her head down a lot, so it is sort of challenging.  Here are a few before, middle, and after pictures.

We spent an enjoyable day at Brownie Beach in Calvert County, where dogs are allowed.

Sarita in Pink

Our sweet toy poodle is blind with cataracts in her left eye (on right in the photo) and we are treating her with eye drops to remove or reduce her cataracts.  It worked at first, but now she is bumping into walls.  Her right eye is worse.  Blind dogs often do well since vision is not their strongest sense (smell is better).  She is still adorable in pink and at 7 pounds, strangers often remark at her cuteness.

Our toy poodle has really bad cataracts and is going blind.  She is scared by bright sunlight, so I bought her these stylish sunglasses to protect her eyes from the sharp light.  She does look cute in them.

I love photographing pets and senior dogs are special.

Wet Dog August 8, 2018

The St. Mary's County Camera Club had a themed contest this month called Wet.  Our dog, Sarita needed a bath.  She is a toy poodle rescue.  It only made sense to combine the two.  The results were adorable and she won first place!

Maryland Dogfest April 28

     Diamond: What big ears you have!    So adorable!

The MD Dogfest at the Charles County Fairgrounds was lots of fun.  We met so many dogs.  This is Diamond, a chihuahua.  

Our dog, Sarita was in the fashion show as a bride. She got a new ladybug collar and made new friends.

I had a little portrait session with Sarita last week and quickly learned that a flash makes her close her eyes.  She's my natural  light girl!  She still looks like a puppy, until her ears get long like a proper toy poodle.  Isn't she cute with her little tongue out.
