Maryland Dogfest April 28

Diamond: What big ears you have!    So adorable!

The MD Dogfest at the Charles County Fairgrounds was lots of fun.  We met so many dogs.  This is Diamond, a chihuahua.

Our dog, Sarita was in the fashion show as a bride. She got a new ladybug collar and made new friends.

My Friend DJ, the Chihuahua

I photographed DJ recently relaxing in the sun.  He is adorable, and is Sarita's closest canine pal.

A Visit to the SMAWL Animal Fair

I attended the SMAWL (St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League) Animal Fair at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds on Saturday May 11th and had fun photographing lots of adorable dogs.  I keep practicing my pet photography whenever I get a chance.  Here is a sampling of some of my favorite photos.  Please feel free to name your dog or the dog breed if you see it.

I know the dog watching the bee is Daisy and the dog posing in front of a green bush is Snookie, a lovely Sheltie.  Both dogs were exceptionally well trained and good at tricks.

I apologize to the lady in the “woofing it down” contest with her dog (if she doesn’t like the photo).  I thought it was so much fun that they were helping each other eat.  I hope she has a good sense of humor!

Happy Easter!

I tried to make an Easter dog portrait with DJ for Easter cards. I have some bunny ears, but they were just too big for cute little DJ, my Chihuahua friend. I made due with an Easter basket, flowers and Easter eggs.

Photographing a Chihuahua

I had fun on Wednesday taking photos of a chihuahua named Lacey. She was adorable and sweet. I brought some Mexican hats and a blanket to play with and some cute Christmas costumes. We tried to get her attention by using a squeaky toy and clicker. It was fun doing a pet session. Does anyone know any good websites about pet photography? I’m interested in learning more.
