We planned to drive to Solomon's Island for the sunset, but the line to cross the bridge was so long that we would have missed it. Instead, we drove to Leonardtown Wharf to see the mediocre sunset. Undaunted, I tried out my new fluorescent filter that enhanced the blue hour look and made more beautiful photos. I liked the light on the flag that made it pop a little.

Upcoming Southern Maryland Boat Club Vintage Regatta July 29-30
Jim's Boat Club is having their annual Vintage Power Boat Regatta this weekend, July 29-30 at the Leonardtown Wharf, 8 am - 5 pm. All of the boats are antiques and there are no winners, but the club members all have a great time racing around the course.
My husband, Jim, is looking forward to participating. We seem to be having a few difficulties this year, but hopefully everything will go well.
Here are a few photos from previous years.

Southern Maryland Boat Club Summer Regatta 8-8-15
Here are my best photos of the 1st Southern Maryland Boat Club Summer Regatta at Leonardtown Wharf in MD on Saturday August 8th, 2015. There were races by antique boats at least 30 years old using the black flag (no awards), from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. The show also included static antique boat displays and food by Kevin's Corner Kafe. The event was sanctioned by the American Power Boat Association. Many of the drivers won races years ago. Joe Norris was the emcee. To learn more about the club visit http://www.southernmarylandboatclub.com
We displayed Jim's boat in the static displays and quite a few visitors looked it over. It's a nice looking 1985 Centurion ski boat that is still a work in progress.
Please feel free to comment or share something about a boat.
