Dixon Family Farm was fun to visit with lots of flowers, butterflies and animals. You could buy flowers, hold a party or reception and there was even a little store with lavender selections. They sometimes have special events too. The animals were somewhat shy, so I gently talked to them and they were curious about me. It was really sweet. (This has slightly older photos from June and July, so it probably wouldn't look the same now.) Children would enjoy the farm too.

Flower Arrangements
Some of you may know my 91-year-old mother recently passed away. Being the passionate photographer that I am, I couldn't resist photographing the lovely flowers at her funeral luncheon in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, I can't send you the scent as well. Mom loved purple, so there are more purple flowers than usual and purple always looks nice with a yellow background, its complimentary color.
The funeral was a lovely tribute to Mom, a sweet lady.
Friends said the blue reminded them of the ocean Mom loved, and purple orchids for the color Mom loved.

Exotic Water Lilies
I recently photographed some gorgeous water lilies. It was a little too early in the day, but I liked them anyway, even with strong shadows.
I have photographed water lilies 3 or 4 times in recent years. I find that I usually need a long lens to get good "closeup" photos of these lovely flowers, rather than a macro lens. I used a 70-300 zoom for these images. The flowers never seem to be near the edge of the pond!
If you know the names of these beautiful lilies, please comment. 😊
