River Concert: Mass in Blue July 8, 2016

Larry Vote was guest conductor for the yearly choral concert at St.Mary's College of Maryland on the green.  The concert featured Lena Siekely, mezzo-soprano and the RCS chorus of mostly students and alumni.  A current student, Joey Haavik sang a duet with Ms. Siekely.

The crowd patiently endured several rain showers before and during the concert, and the sun even set beautifully.

River Concert: Brass and Blues ... Plus Fireworks

Defying the possibility of thunderstorms, the July 1st River Concert went on with occasional strong gusts of wind and a little light rain.  We even had sun for a sunset.

The concert at St. Mary's College of Maryland was held Friday on the green as usual and featured Blues musician Linwood Taylor, trumpeters Amy McCabe, Zachary Silberschlag and Jeffrey Silberschlag, trombonist Bryan Bourne and saxophonist Rick Humphries.  Some of the music included "Trumpeter's Holiday", "Spinning Wheel" by Blood, Sweat and Tears, "Uptown Funk" and Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture"

And Fireworks!!!!!

River Concert June 17th Features José Cueto

The Chesapeake Orchestra held their first  concert of the 2016 season at St. Mary's College of MD on the green.  José Cueto was the featured violinist for a Night in Old Vienna with music by Johann Strauss Jr. , Tomasso Vitali, Johannes Brahms and Franz Schubert.  The weather was delightful after earlier predictions of rain, although the ground was a little soft in places.
Lovely night, lovely music!  I'm partial to "On the beautiful Blue Danube"
